Steve Szirom founded InsideChips, (a division of HTE Research, Inc.) to become the premier Internet channel for semiconductor/EDA entrepreneurs and investors.  The company was founded with private funds in January 2000 and through internal cash generation, InsideChips was re-launched in October 2006 with a new, robust website and expanded focus.

The corporate mission at InsideChips is threefold:

1. to promote entrepreneurship, new ventures and startups in the semiconductor, EDA, and nanoelectronics industry
2. to provide educational/consultative/productivity resources for founders and management to help them get their startups on a faster track and to avoid pitfalls
3. to become the premier Internet channel for semiconductor/EDA entrepreneurs (fabless, IP, design house, EDA, SE&M) and investors (angels, VCs, corporate venture, investment bankers) for networking, business development, and investment

Szirom is a semiconductor industry analyst and management consultant with over 35 years of international and business experience in the microelectronics industry. His consulting specialties are tracking and analyzing startups, market  strategic business planning and development, organizational development, integrated marcom strategies, international issues and investments.

He is a founding member of the Bellingham Angel Group located in the Pacific Northwest. He assists startup management in positioning their emerging ventures on a faster growth track and avoiding pitfalls.

In 1969, Szirom started his career with Motorola Semiconductor (Freescale Semiconductor) in international marketing (Asia and Europe) with responsibility for analog ICs (consumer and professional) and later in strategic marketing for power devices. While at Motorola, he was analog IC marketing manager for Europe based in Toulouse, France. Following his career at Motorola, Szirom joined Signetics/Philips Semiconductor as international memory marketing manager working closely with the European semiconductor unit of Philips.
