Semiconductor Investment Timer
Steve Szirom's Semiconductor Investment Timer (SIT) uses several proprietary technical indicators to time short- and medium-term entry and exit points into a portfolio of semiconductor stocks, such as the SMH ETFs. The investment timer generates a buy or sell signal approximately every one to three months. The Philadelphia Stock Index (SOX) is used as a measure of performance for the timing signals. The timer is independently tracked for performance verification. Click on the graphic below to see our performance.
The SIT signal is aimed at keeping you in the semiconductor indices when the prices are going up and in shorts or out of the indices during declines. Here is how the SIT works:
- Green Light: buy long position in index
- Red Light: buy short position in index
- Yellow Light: proceed with caution, get out of the index (long or short) and into a money market fund
