Bits & Bytes from the Industry Grapevine
Bits and Bytes from the Industry Grapevine brings you semiconductor industry rumors and gossip, sometimes humorous and bizarre. Significant design wins in the chip industry will be reviewed here.
Bits and Bytes is dedicated to the memory of Don Hoefler who was infamous for raking the captains of industry over the coals in his weekly Microelectronic News. If you are older, you know who he is ... but if you are less experienced, you can view a San Jose Mercury News article which describes his exploits (click on his name). He is credited for coining the phrase "Silicon Valley" in 1971. To read the collection of his work which was done on an IBM Selectric typewriter, click here (courtesy of Robert Schreiner, former president of Synertek).
