Quantenna Reloads Cash Kitty to Ramp Production
February 26, 2010

Quantenna Communications, a supplier of Wi-Fi networking for whole-home entertainment, has raised  $15 million Series D round of financing from its current investors Grazia Equity, Sequoia Capital, Sigma Partners, Southern Cross, Swisscom, and Venrock Associates.  To date, the startup has raised $59 million.

The cash infusion will enable the company to accelerate volume production ramp up for its Full-11n 4x4 Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) Wi-Fi chipsets.  The company is playing in a $4 billion Wi-Fi chipset market by 2012.  The company is working with consumer electronics OEMs to deploy Wi-Fi home networking products that can distribute multiple video streasm throughout the home at full 1080p resolution.  This technology was showcased by the company at the Consumer Electronics Show in January 2010.

Quantenna's Full-11n chipsets are the only devices to incorporate the full range of IEEE802.11n specifications including 4x4 Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO), dynamic digital beamforming, and wireless channel monitoring and optimizing. They ensure that Wi-Fi home networks can deliver the same quality as wired Ethernet, including supporting up to full HD video with 1080p resolution, anywhere in the home, while guaranteeing compatibility with existing and future IEEE 802.11n-compliant products.
