New CEO to Take Reins fo Wi-Fi PAN Startup

Ozmo Devices, a provider of low-power Wi-Fi Personal Area Network (Wi-Fi PAN) solutions, has brought in semiconductor industry veteran Bill McLean to become the company's CEO. He has an extensive career in wireless, including Wi-Fi and GPS technologies and a successful track record at start ups as well as larger established companies.
McLean was co-founder and CEO of GloNav, a fabless semiconductor company that manufactured GPS receivers for the cellular market. He successfully sold the company to NXP (part of ST Ericsson) for $110 million in 2008. Previously, he waspresident and CEO of Anadigm, a fabless semiconductor company producing field programmable analog arrays (FPAAs). McLean has served as president, U.S. Operations of Parthus Technologies which dual listed on the London Stock Exchange and NASDAQ. He joined Parthus from Authentec, a biometrics firm that he assisted in spinning out from Harris Corporation, where he was VP and chief marketing officer. At Harris Semiconductor, he served as VP and GM where he assisted in their launch of Wi-Fi products. He began his career at Texas Instruments.
McLean replaces Dave Lyon was president of Ozmo since October 2008. Lyon is currently a consultant in the San Diego area.
The company has received $7.5 million in Series C funding from its current investors - Granite Ventures, Intel Capital and Tallwood Venture Capital - in September 2009.
