Arasan Taps VP of Engineering
Arasan Chip Systems, a supplier of IP solutions -- IP cores, verification IP (VIP), software drivers and stacks and hardware solutions, hired Ignatius Bezzam, a semiconductor-industry veteran with more than 25 years of experience, as VP of engineering. He reports to president Ganesan Arasan. In his new role, Bezzam will lead the development of deep sub-micron, SoC analog and mixed signal IP solutions. Responsibilities will include the oversight of global development teams and support of the increasing number of worldwide customers in the mobile, PC, consumer electronics and communications markets. Bezzam most recently served as director of IC design at Altierre, a system house for digital retail solutions. Earlier, he held management positions at National Semiconductor, Volterra Semiconductor, Maxim Integrated Products, Integrated Circuit Systems (now IDT) and Fairchild Semiconductor. Recenlty, Arasan and Cadence Design Systems began collaborating to provide system designers a method to speed verification of designs based on the emerging Mobile Industry Processor Interface (MIPISM) standard. Arasan was founded in 1995 as an IC design house. The firm delivers technology IP solutions like MIPI, SD/SDIO, USB, PCI, Ethernet, MMC, CE-ATA, CF+, NAND and more, to the global electronics market. Arasan's goal is to enable designers to accelerate their development and simplify their production of complex SoCs. The company's HQ was recently reolated to San Jose, Calif. |
