Redmere Debuts World' First 3.4Gbps HDMI Switch with Embedded CEC Controller
These devices are highly integrated with on chip CEC Controller, EDID source memory, Active DDC and a HPD sequencer. These are the key features required to implement a fully CEC compliant design. The embedded CEC Phy and EDID memory eliminate the requirement for external devices such as CEC microcontroller and discrete EDID memories. Low Capacitance On chip ESD protection circuits ensure 8Kv is achieved at 3.4Gbps whilst eliminating the need for external ESD protection components. The design focuses on minimizing HDTV system power consumption. Inactive switch input terminations are automatically disabled to reduce power. The ability of the RM1831 to provide an EDID to both active and inactive sources even in standby, together with the innovative CEC controller ensure seamless operation for the end user independent of whether the TV is in standby or active mode. The three-to-one switches are available in a 64 LQFP Package and the one to one repeater devices are available in a 48 pin QFN. The switch and repeater products are as follows:
