Greek Design Shop Intros Novel IP Tool
October 19, 2007
Think Silicon Ltd, a design services and IP core provider based in Patras, Greece, unveiled an on-line IP configuration tool called IPGenius(TM). The program is designed to ease the process of obtaining and integrating IP into SoC designs by offering SoC designers an easy-to-use web interface for parametrising core properties before receiving them.
It is an on-line tool for the generation of parametrizable IP modules that can be used in semiconductor devices. This tool allows the generation of custom-made IP modules from a selection of modules that can be customised according to users' requirements, packaged and delivered to the end-user via the internet. The tool will host an expanding portfolio of proprietary, partner and verified commercially friendly opensource Semiconductor IP (SIP) modules, that can be parametrised to user requirements from an easy to use web interface.
The IP firm has included a number of free opensource IP cores in its lineup which will expand to include a portfolio of proprietary, partner and verified opensource semiconductor IP cores which can be parameterized using IPGenius via the Internet. The free cores include AMBA bus builder cores for both AHB and APB, Ethernet bus ports, a CRC generator and floating-point math functions.
Think Silicon's team members have worked together for many years as part of ATMEL's IC-Group, a WLAN/VOIP design center, and have taped-out 13 SoC architectures and 24 different part numbers for various applications in wireless, VOIP, network processors. The company's mission to develop alternative innovative methodologies that will accelerate the integration, design and verification process of integrated circuits development.
Think Silicon is a member of the HellenicSIA association and the Spirit Consortium.
