Pixim opened its greater China headquarters and named a sales and marketing manager based out of Hong Kong. Pixim is establishing a presence to both support camera manufacturers and to accelerate end-market adoption of DPS cameras in China and Taiwan.

Alfred Chou's appointment to head the Pixim Hong Kong office as sales and marketing manager, Greater China, reflects Pixim's growing commitment to success in China and Taiwan. The latest data suggests that China and Taiwan are each producing about 1 million surveillance cameras per month. Simultaneously, China has become the world's fastest-growing surveillance end market.

Chou was previously with ESS Technology and Tektron Electronics (HK) Ltd. & Tekcomp Electronics Ltd.

Pixim's DPS technology is touted to deliver excellent image quality and color rendition in both normal and wide dynamic range scenes in any lighting conditions, 24/7. DPS technology converts light to a digital signal directly at the point of capture in the image sensor, enabling each pixel to have independent, optimized exposure times to deliver the highest image quality.

Pixim's new China headquarters will provide sales and support for Pixim's complete digital imaging system, consisting of a family of image sensors, image processors, camera reference design kits, and key software and algorithms that allow camera developers to easily design and build high-quality, advanced-featured cameras.
